The real potential danger is a smash up of Iran vs Turkey.

He says his core role is to protect citizens against any threat to their security.

I would love to see his defense plan against the banks.

Lord knows they have threatened all our security.

He told us that the French contribute trainers and are in the process of withdrawing from Afghanistan.

If he would have said the French are contributing trainers for withdrawing from Afghanistan then Jay Leno would have to send him thank you notes for at least ten monologues.

He mentioned Article 5 and how on September 12, 2011 it was all for one and one for all.

      But what about Article 4?

Article 4 of the treaty ensures consultations among Allies on security matters of common interest, which after 60 years have expanded from a narrowly defined Soviet threat to the critical mission in Afghanistan, as well as peacekeeping in Kosovo and new threats to security such as cyber attacks, and global threats such as terrorism and piracy that affect the Alliance and its global network of partners.

So isn't Syria an Article 4 issue? A security issue of common interest.

    5. SharkswithfrikingLazers  10/03/2012 02:24 AM Report

He tells us the USA is 80% of NATO.

      Here is the breakdown: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NATO#Participating_countries

4.8% of the our GDP? $732M?

      Common on!

The only time in Vietnam when it could be said the US was winning was when it had 300-500,000 troops there. Not before, nor after. I doubt Afghanistan will be any different. And the presidential elections, both ours and theirs, could easily change the withdrawal schedule. Did I hear him say what is happening in Syria is both a violation of international law, and that intervention is not justified because there is none?
