While I can understand why Suu Kyi accepted their invitation, certainly respect her accomplishments and sympathize with her ordeal, I don't think the Congress has anymore business doing stuff like this, no matter how many others do it, than in laying embargoes and fomenting revolutions. Maybe they're just happy to find something they can appear positive about when they aren't on the Capitol steps posing for pictures.
