      RE: Sept 29 2004 w/ Jon Stewart.

25 minutes into the program Charlie asked him how he would do

his show, "....call them on their miss-information...". You might let Jon do one of your shows with the likes of Larry Sommers or Geitner or Cheney. Think of the ratings WOW!

Charlie have Jon on again, it's been years! He's way more famous now, I don't understand why 2004 was the last time.

    3. jdjohnson  02/16/2011 06:21 AM Report

Would absolutely love to see Jon on the show again soon.

    4. RandomAmber  08/13/2010 04:59 PM Report

      Please have Jon on again.

"The bias in the news isn't activist it is laziest."

      Thank you Jon Stewart.

Charlie, please have this dialogue every six months, at least, with him. He keeps your generation of media scribblers honest, and he was the lone voice of reason for my generation (kids of boomers) during the darkest hour of our young life: the reelection of Bush II in the fall of 2004, and the occupation of Iraq. Stewart attended fewer cocktail parties and did the comedic/satiric hard work during that time. Hell, his show coined the state of living we're all living in now, "truthiness." Please. Please invite, cajole, and/or beg to create a mini Rose-esque series with him. If you have to sit in his living room couch with YOUR camara crew please do it. Our generation is asking for it. It's even more important now because it'll be the likes of Stewart's satiric faux journalism that will keep the likeable, but centrist and politically savvy new President Obama honest for the public record. Cheers.

Why didn't he come one your show for so long. Please!!! Have him on again. Thanks.

Charlie I love your show, not your choice of clothing. Please no more striped suits, cuff linkless shirts, extra wide collars, badly notted ties, cream colored socks. I find these seemingly bizarre traits distracting and competely out of character. Or are you a closet Bozo??

    8. JMan  05/14/2008 01:38 AM Report

Charlie; please have Jon back on!

The show they talk about creating, and the anchor - he exists. He is Jeremy Paxman, and it's a shame you don't have anyone like him on your side of the Atlantic. Fascinating interview, I'd love to see Jon come on again.

    10. Letitia Tullis  04/13/2008 11:34 PM Report

Please have Jon Stewart on again

Jon Stewart is brilliant and his critiques of the system are incisive in so many ways. Also, it is evident from his interviews (as it is from Stephen Colbert's interview) that both men deeply respect Charlie Rose and the intellectual engagement the conversations offer.

    12. Nicole  01/13/2008 07:43 AM Report

Thank you so much for posting this.

It's great to see what a passionate, funny, informed and smart man he is. It is such a joy to watch and to listen to him speak about these things that he genuinely cares about. He, for me, truly embodies what an American citizen should be. I always feel that it is such a shame that Jon tends to get eclipsed now by Stephen, who has created a brilliant character who takes up so much space and has such an overwhelming presence. Jon is a tremendous man who deserves just as much, if not more, praise and attention.

      Charlie,

This conversation made me realize that our political debates need someone who interviews in the ability and style that you exemplify. No more scripted monologues during a debate, the public needs YOU to discuss with the candidate for 10-15 minutes of a give-and-take conversation on a particular issue.

Break them out of their political mold, and make their beliefs come "alive."

    14. Rajesh  09/14/2007 11:39 AM Report

Oh, nevermind, I see you have! Double Thanks!

    15. Rajesh  09/14/2007 11:38 AM Report

Jon mentioned Dave Chapelle, can you bring him on your show. Great show!

    16. Kamalesh  08/22/2007 11:08 PM Report

Thanks, Charlie, for having Jon Stewart on in Sept. 2004. Any plans to have him on again after a 3 year hiatus?

    17. Valerie  08/16/2007 02:54 AM Report

Thank you so much for these interviews of Jon and Stephen Colbert. It's so interesting and reassuring to see what they're really like, what their own opinions and thoughts are. I'd absolutely love to see Jon or Stephen again.

    18. Tiffany  05/28/2007 06:52 AM Report

I have this on my ipod and I still enjoy seeing it on my computer. Great interview, love them both. Wish Stewart would come on again.
