      Ricardo ~

We have imposed on this archive too much that belongs elsewhere.

I believe your idea below on the attack against General Dempsey is false. I believe in the good faith and friendship of Israel and its Prime Minister.

I am trying to awaken interest in money reform as a means to prevent nuclear war and establish an abundance regime worldwide. http://www.whatisamericanmoney.com/kt1.htm

Gelles, I understand that neurotic, and warmongering Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Nethanyahu is also a raving lunatic, but by trying to assassinate an American General he has crossed the "red line".

Planned war on Iran and the General who said No! - August 22, 2012

      http://www.presstv.ir/detail/2012/08/22/257558/iran-war-and-the-general-who-said-no/

US General Martin Dempsey, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff

Today, General Dempsey, Chairman of America’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, the man who flew to Tel Aviv and informed Netanyahu that America wanted no part of his scheming against Iran was the subject of an assassination attempt in Afghanistan.

This wasn’t an act of terrorism or Taliban militants. It was a “mob hit” against someone who failed to kiss the feet of Netanyahu. His response was to unleash killers, not a fact for the public but a fact just the same, one the American military knows very well. Netanyahu has a problem with “hubris.”

Gelles, check all this information that I posted today regarding the coming ThermoNuclear War between the United States/Israel vs. Russia/China.

Here is what means to vote for a Romney/Ryan Presidential ticket in 2012 - Russia giving the United States warning signs of a possible Thermo-Nuclear War...

      Ricardo Amaral ~

The next major war will see Russia, China and America, not as enemies but allies, determined to contain that war, as a risk to their partnership in power, and at most blow off steam and solve nothing at all.

This planet is ready for economic democracy and protection of a bill of political rights that is long past due.

I recommend we all read "Nothing to Envy" by Barbara Demick.

Demick brings to life the madness of cults of personalty tied to a tradition of oriental worship of a living God Confucius style. The Middle East is different. It's got oil for sale and heat as bad as Korean cold. These aberrations are not about to move the US, China and Russia to a place far nuttier than where we all are.

Writers need an audience. But audiences do not need nuclear war to be reminded that Iran and North Korea are out of step and most other places are less so.

Vote for the Romney/Ryan Presidential ticket in 2012 – and enjoy your first thermonuclear war against Russia/China.

      josephskinkis ~

      Dear Joe,

I Second your opinion. the philosophy of living, competing, winning, preparing, losing, and still living, is the substance of the golf life I have never cared to compete in.

Rather I have wanted to compete in economic theory. And I have won and lost a lot of time and trouble doing it. We who care know -- that it is a deficit in demand we must repair. And we know too -- the deficit in tax revenue or in a particular financial debt accounting in a future we expect and/or want, is more or less the fiction Vice President Chaney said it was and is.

We welcome Charlie Rose when he hits a home run or a drive in golf that scores a hole in one. And this he did when Rory McIlroy and CR sat and recalled the game of golf as Rory knows it.

It would by nice if Charlie visited Keynesian scholars at the New School in New York, Bard University's Levy Institute in New York and the University of Missouri Kansas City in Missouri. There he will find the Rory McIlroy's of competition in production, trade and consumption that we Americans have nurtured but refuse to heed when they are needed most. Supply to meet need. Demand to meet supply. And money enough to create demand -- are all within reach. If only Charlie will do his job and stop with the Niall Ferguson's of Harvard and the crowd from the University of Chicago who are as bad as our worst enemies for what they've done to our manufacturing power.

PREPARATION? Is he prepared for the century in which technology promises ABUNDANCE and law and economics turn it down.

Joseph, what do we need to do to show the democracies of this world that money based on production and consumption is called for -- and money based on debt is insufficient for our need?

I'm living in Thailand now and have missed Charlie Rose who I watched all the time in the USA . Now I can watch him again on Bloomberg. I just viewed the interview with Rory Mciloy. I'd never played golf, but Mr. Rose rose to the occasion and made it more than golf as his questions were more about the philosophy of life. Welcome back Charlie Rose.

    9. Gelles  08/25/2012 02:43 PM Report

      Dear Ricardo ~

Listened over your link to YouTube to Corbett and Escobar. They may want universal human rights, global development and an end to domination of history by Western thought, technology and ambition. But, whom do they chose to represent progress? "The non-aligned?" Russia? China? Islam?

These choices would not indicate progress.

..... No doubt, room must be made for East-West accords; and for development of productive systems to feed and promote more than half Earth's population that were objects of European colonial expansion from the 15th century till the decline of socialism in our time.

That said, and the coming power of the BRIC nations and the Asian continent, what is there to fear from endless wars against Islam and the endless triumph of science over superstition? Probably nothing -- but nuclear proliferation.

So on that "issue", let us take stand: destroy Iran's military ambition as the only way for life to evolve in the future no worse than it has in the past.

You ended on a similar sour note over US mainstream media. Perhaps we are both right: freedom of the press to chase money as well understanding and freedom of Muslims to chase liberation in the past (in spite of its absence from NOW), unite us in ignorance that may not pass for a while.

Gelles, I always enjoy talking with you here on the Charlie Rose website.

If you have some time check this video of the Corbett Report he is interviewing Pepe Escobar - one of the best journalists that you can find anywhere.

I have been following Pepe Escobar video interviews, and also his articles for a few years, and I can say to you he is a first rate journalist.

Corbett Report Radio 201 -- Around the World with Pepe Escobar – August 22, 2012

      http://youtu.be/xZSv4gB0_LY

Originally aired on AUG 22, 2012

Tonight we talk to Pepe Escobar, roving correspondent for ATimes.com, about the flashpoints in the middle east and North Africa. We discuss the latest round of Iran war hysteria, the Israeli position in the region, the Turkish role in the Syrian war, and the latest moves of newly-elected Muslim Brotherhood President of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi.

PS: The US mainstream media today is not worth anything these days, and the little they report it is worthless information.

    11. Gelles  08/25/2012 01:26 AM Report

Easily, one of Charlie Rose' finest hour of talk -- about winning in competition without cheating or losing the art of thinking and preparing for a competitive world not obsessed with the fruitless notion that winning is everything and finishing out of the money is 'chopped liver'.

PGA Champion Rory McIlroy is a winner through and through on the course and on TV. He was prepared to converse with our host CR for the benefit of the audience. All he had to say was solid gold. I was thinking of skipping the show in favor of sleep. Fortunately, I stayed for a minute and knew at once we had guest with well rehearsed wisdom in every line he uttered.

When I raved about the show to to friends at coffee, they told me his tennis playing love is just as attractive to her audiences as he is. Let me quit here and find her on the WW Web.

Wining is not everything -- billions of winners in life lose in competition every hour of every day in the year.
