She says she found Chris Rock via his agent on IMDB Pro. This, plus this interview, makes it sound like their love fest is where we are seeing the real acting.

Chris Rock fired a Director because this Director did not like “Annie Hall”.
It has 8.2 stars out of 10 on IMDB while “2 Days in Paris” has 6.9 stars and “2 Days in New York” has 6.1.
Apparently he could take notes from somebody not in the “Annie Hall” category.
