What a riveting experience I had viewing the utterly cool "The Clock" at Toronto's The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery this Sunday afternoon. Subsiding into the white, spongey, cotton-covered three-seater in the first row, this superb mash-up film/video automatically drew me in. Sadly, my interactive experience was cut short because the Gallery was closing, but my curiosity warrants that I make a return visit very soon; I still have more than 22 hours left in the loop! Christian, your idea for this artwork was beyond brilliant and, needless to say, the execution is awesome too. Charlie, as always, thank you for sharing this conversation. -Natasha ARORA

A collage of clocks from movies with sound glue.
Takes 3 years of editing and one of the years is testing to see if this is possible.
The Clock is about time and is a meditation on time and a film about film.
The magic is a feeling that people will read into the connection that two things were meant to be together.
In a regular movie you lose time and here you are reminded of time every minute.
Charlie, where was the sound glue to make it appealing? Showing a picture of a clock is a wee bit esoteric.
This might be a tad more appealing:
