Here is someone who is absolutely passionate about his subject matter (China). Great listening to Mr. Bradsher. Real inside expert story.

Why do we allow predatory export practice to prevent the end of poverty everywhere?

Because we believe capitalism base on market pricing is better than government planning that has always failed to cure hardening of information arteries in the past. Today, techno-Utopian promises for digital systems argue for the end of taxes in favor of production to prevent scarcity. Their Bible is "Abundance" and computer systems as studied at Singularity University and similar futurist information systems factories. Connect such factories to a modernized International monetary system and relief may be in sight.

Can China succeed in meeting Need with Supply, Demand and a systematic connection of these three variables with each other -- over a significant period of time?

..... China's mentor-in-fact (the USA) has not established such connection.

"Free markets" cannot do this. They lack the "know-how".

Dogmatic socialism cannot do it; it lacks "know-how" and requisite individual rights.

The best hope we have is for all great nations to unite on the notion that each can afford what they can produce; but they cannot afford to export poisonous surpluses to others.

      Habeas Corpus.

Sounds like China likes to ignore it as much as possible after making an arrest.

Hey, let's finally export something to China besides our garbage: Guantánamo Bay.

Or perhaps it would just be exporting more of our garbage.

What about China's focus in Africa as was mentioned by Dr. Judith Rodin?

We were told that the slow down is coinciding with greater civil unrest. There is now less flight from towns to villages. There are more protests seen now than in years.

So Charlie what would it take for an Arab Spring? Politics or economics?

Doesn't China need at least 5% growth or they have to start measuring deaths by starvation again?

A lot of this can be found in Mr Bradsher's recent articles. I hope no one wishes to argue with the Chinese about real estate speculation, especially in NYC, tho their aims might be better accomplished by a change in monetary policy, that is, if the developed world would stop treating them like groundskeepers and let them into the club. At some point, if things are not to grind to a complete halt, we are going to have to stop running up debt and allow parity through deflation. Until then I suppose we can expect protectionism and warfare of one kind or another and the Chinese will have to cope as best they can.
