Notice how Charlie doesn't say the book is any good towards the end of the interview, and how Graydon Carter kinda feels it. Charlie seems to babble inaudibly as if he's trying to rush over the fact that he doesn't want to saying anything good about "What We've Lost." I guess the book isn't that good.
