Human history is not simply repeated. Each time I get what I want no matter whether you succeed or fail. You are using up all resources I left. If you fail, I move on and redesign the whole new world.

This is a genealogical research project presented as art. It's interesting inasmuch as learning about unique family trees is interesting. But the subject would've been better presented as a book, or as an exhibit in a cultural or historical museum. The category "art" should exclude things like this. I hate to think of all the true artists who didn't get this MOMA space because Ms. Simon did.

She told us the bulk of her work is getting access and getting people to be cooperative.

Charlie, it sounds like she could work for you.

Her story on how China worked was very interesting. They do get things done.

Charlie, you have been friends for 15 years and she first bushwhacked you with a camera.

Perhaps you might share your story with Alec Baldwin?

I see more style than substance here, more form than function yet it is very interesting.

Dead men (not really dead but it sounds good), Genocide, Man paid in other men's daughters, Test Rabbits that are killed and more are all interesting but I think of nature versus nurture in a bloodline.

The hardwired aspects of our brains (great new show on Discovery) and our instincts (twin studies) might help you more with "Is there a purpose or are we just repeating ourselves over and over?"

I hope she checked with Spencer Wells:

He had a FANTASTIC documentary on PBS:

Bloodlines are one thing but the Y chromosome is even deeper.

It's difficult for me to "get it" based on this interview. It, no doubt, has some artistic merit but falls way short of any signicant long lasting benefit.

I think she would have done better to have contacted some long-established families or visited some picture archives. In any case, I guess, photographers, like artists, should be seen and not heard.
