The driving force for evolution, I believe, is population, not science and technology. Furthermore, population is also driving science and technology forward. But it doesn't work for very ancient spirit like Chinese Dragon. In Mongol, total population is just around two millions.

'27 EU countries brought together 450 million people who had fought against each other for centuries.'

. . . to bring down the global economy?

. . . to change the political climate of the world for decades?

. . . to create more chaos than all the skirmishes combined?

Yes Dear, please create the conversational menu for our global dinner party.

I don't mind at all if it is thoughtful and factual and I can argue both sides of the conversation from what you print.

However, if it is like the junk email I get--which seems to stimulate conversation of the flat-out-fake--then never mind.

"What I like to say, in setting out what we present to our readers on a daily basis - I like to call it 'The Conversational Menu for the Global Dinner Party.' "

Question: Does Ms. Smale realize how arrogant and downright rude she sounds by making such a statement?

No matter what its politicians might like, France is in few ways the same as Germany or Britain, and I doubt it ever will be, or should be.
