From description of Diamandis book on Abundance:

"Examining human need by category—water, food, energy, healthcare, education, freedom--Diamandis and Kotler introduce dozens of innovators making great strides in each area: Larry Page, Steven Hawking, Dean Kamen, Daniel Kahneman, Elon Musk, Bill Joy, Stewart Brand, Jeff Skoll, Ray Kurzweil, Ratan Tata, Craig Venter, among many, many others."

Although other host countries partner to create the global market, American history has prepared the USA to continue to lead all people in our search for liberty and justice (economic and political) for all mankind. If, however, the Golden Rule and respect for universal human rights and scientific evidence becomes a global standard, it will be time to share leadership responsibilities with all nations and peoples who will lead by example -- not by force or show of force as has been customary in the past.

The role of debt-free, output-based money, ("electric money") ( www.outputbasedmoney.info ), may be significant. Projects similar in nature to such money reform are very old. But, at present, debt-based credit and/or money is preferred by many students of economic development. It is suggested here that Singularity take an interest in this debate. Although exponential growth in technological progress is apparent even in times when aggregate demand was inadequate (relative to full employment,) supply and demand goals fell far short of ending poverty. For this fact, we imagine monetary reform to remove growth constraints and distortions related to greed and excess-profit seeking in otherwise free (but not well-defined) markets.

And, even money system reform will be insufficient until law and language circumscribing communication, education and training, must be reformed, as well, in a frontal attack on modern Mandarinism that slows the acquisition of necessary skills by neophytes in every trade, profession and business.

Rare genius may triumph over all obstacles. But the triumph of substance over form is wanted for and by ordinary people.

Pictures, maps, diagrams, and audio-visual aids and models, etc., designed with artistic genius, are called on a commercial scale to promote cooperation and excellence in all industry, politics and similar arenas where complexity confounds us and progress stops like a broken clock.

The era of abundance we want looks, too, to reform of copyright, patent and intellectual property law to reward all -- as common language does -- and retard none just because we were used to scarcity that was not necessary.

Please listen to this talk by Peter Diamandis about the future that Hoffman and Ricardo Amaral do not discuss with the proper perspective: These two, although far apart, do not see how PRODUCTION that solves the supply problem can be used to solve demand as well.

      [Copy of post to Lagarde]

      Ricardo ~

This interview is becoming too burdened with futurism. The inter view with Reed,[Reid Hoffman,] founder of Linked In network for entrepreneurs and staff members, is presently nearly empty (3 lame comments).

I'm switching to it to answer your view that Asia (or BRICS -- adding S. Africa to the larger 4,) will replace the USA (and its economic genius) within the foreseeable future.

We [the global economy] are in search of the Singularity and Exponential Growth whereby we will lead with Europe and Japan the revolution in Technology, Educational-entertainment, Design (TED) (www.ted.com) that will usher in the Age of Abundance where price will reflect efficient computerization not low wages.

    4. Gelles  03/11/2012 11:40 PM Report

My post to Christine Lagarde interview, time stamped a few minutes before this one, promises to compare Ricardo's view of BRIC with my view of Age of Abundance on TED (www.ted.com) by Peter Diamandis, co-founder of Singularity University.

I will copy it above this post.

In regard to privacy, don't put anything on any computer connected to the Internet that you would not want read to a jury or your mother.

They may tell you that you need online banking, or social networking, or any other thing, but don't forget they are just trying to sell their products to you. If you choose to do things online, don't be surprised by all the places this information might end up.

However, I sincerely hope that someday there is a law specifically stating that, using someone's website can never be construed as giving them permission to raid your hard drive. But I repeat, don't put anything on any computer connected to the Internet that you want to keep private.

Charlie, there is no privacy in our world; especially when you are powerful because God will likely peep into your other half soul to see why things get screw up.

      ========================================================

When we look into the sky, we are all humble by the creation.

There are total 48 dimensions in our universe. 36 dimensions are inaccessible to us. Our souls can access 12 dimensions (12 strand soul DNA) while this material world with plant earth limits us to only 3 dimensions with Double Helix DNA.

Knowledge is limitless, so does intelligent being.

Our soul has no difference; we are united as one. Our differences in body, senses, sex, intelligence, power and wealth, is only the trap into darkness which prevent us to unite our other half soul in the lightness.

I doubt any of these IT guys have any idea what real entrepreneurship is. The thought occurs to me that the main reason why so few ppl make all the money in this, is simply because they alone fail to see the real futility of it. I keep telling my mom that microwave ovens are really only good for reheating things, but it has yet to sink in. Much of this tech stuff IMHO falls in the same category. The pressing need is to make ppl smarter, not to design systems to take advantage of their stupidity and cupidity.

BTW, when Hoffman says philosophy he no doubt means the sort of analytic garbage that is supposed to pass for it these days, which is actually a good training for programming and not much else.
