      I doubt immunity per se had much to do with it. I suspect that if we hadn't shown ourselves so biased against the Shiites, we might have been allowed to stay, because, as was said, an occupation of this sort might have proved beneficial, as it was in Europe and Korea. But Iraq will of course now likely have to decide between Iran and Syria, which will not help the internal situation.
