Great! Number one in consumption! It is crucial for Turkey to capitalize on its recent success to re-launch/re-invent itself and become more production-focused than "consumption" focused in its every aspect, e.g.intellectual, technological, industrial, cultural production. Give more emphasis to "human capital." It is still not too late, but it's crucial for the future.
Impressive gentleman though.

Awesome insight on Turkey from one of the most loved and respected CEO in Turkey...He has made Turkcell a truly global brand.. If I had to criticize one thing though, it would be Charlie's questions...He must have asked him tougher and deeper questions considering Ciliv's extraordinary background and experience in many parts of the world....

Shiny new buildings do seem to mesmerize Charlie, but fast "growth" is almost always a result of overspending made possible by "hot money," and that appears to be the case in Turkey, just as in China, a decade ago in Ireland, and a generation ago in Japan. This is unfortunate since like the US in the '90s and '80s it comes on the heels of a period of positive growth, the result of disinflation. Turkey needs more savings and more industry, and fewer earthquakes. See http://www.ft.com/intl/cms/s/0/fadafd76-a06f-11e0-a115-00144feabdc0.html#axzz1bTicqikB
