Yes Charlie, voice recognition!
We are getting there. I talk to computers every month when I telephone in my payments for cable, internet and cellphone.

Charlie, great question about FaceBook.
It is FaceBook now, not LinkedIn.
There is no home and business separation. Our lives have been merged for decades now.

LinkedIn: dudes get back to work! Steve Jobs would have never let this out.

LinkedIn is also used by Scam artists, I have found. The ones that give seminars and make promises, try to take your money and then leave town. They look pretty good, 'LinkedIn'.

LinkedIn is a Facebook for business. It differs in that it appears to have cheekily listed employees before they've even signed up. I think its advent should be neither surprising nor particularly welcome, but I don't think it will really work as advertised, since this kind of networking really has to be clandestine, and there are many head-hunting firms doing it. Its valuation IMHO certainly reflects speculation.
Silicon Valley has unfortunately become another port of call on the liberal cruise itinerary, along with Hollywood, Seattle, lower Manhattan, northern Miami, and West Virginia, and that only makes sense, as it floats no less on easy money. It is really only one of the few survivors of the once proud "new economy" fleet.
Microsoft has become something of a hardware company in comparison to many of the firms left, and Apple always has been. The latter's new iPhone, however, appears to have excited little enthusiasm despite the voice recognition, but the really interesting thing about it is that the latter had long been one of Gates's hobbyhorses.
The Groupon idea has now been co-opted by nearly everyone, and, it does seem to have, like wholesale clubs, served mostly to drive down prices, but it undoubtedly has also allowed many firms to remain in business.
