The end was a bit rushed but one inch of dirt on the roof and we get succulents and a foot of dirt on the roof and we get food.
Well the required roof reinforcement for the foot of earth is one thing. However, working a garden is one of the best ways to improve mental health--not to mention the earth science and the education.
So how about a show on living roofs and solar shingles (solar shingles were shown in the movie "Who Killed The Electric Car")?
These roofs are a resource that might solve many of our problems.

I would like to say that I just watch Michael Arad who designed the 9/11 memorial and was highly impressed with his vision of "Sustainble Design" and how we can influence society by the way we design build our buildings and how we use them. I was disappointed to see that his name was not shown but a very brief second in the entire interview. Michael has a definite understanding of how sustainable design can literally improve our living conditions and make a healthier, more comfortable building that we can interact, work, play and live and improve our social condition through careful design, thought and construction.

That's a Beautiful Building and Memorial they're building there, especially with all the Trees.
I watched a PBS program on it; the fancy custom glass at the bottom third of the building will not work, unfortunately; maybe some tweaking and still can use glass, if it HAS to be glass for some kind of effect the architect is looking for. I think regular glass would work if they mix it with some high end stonework. Maybe mold stone out of glass (glass stone) mixed with meticuously fitted real fieldstone, the effect could be dramatic; and we all love drama, right.?. Especially Mr. Mant :)
