9/11 happened in the context of citizens, and concerned government employees who were sounding the alarm bells to stop the plotters. In 1994 Haruki Ikegami was blown nearly in half on a passenger plane over Japan. Japan deferred prosecution, allowing the US DOJ to try the case lumping it with the first WTC attack for a total of 20 indictments, 9 related to Oplan Bojinka and 11 to the 93 WTC bombing....During the trial a plane exploded after taking off from Long Island...defense attornies claimed they couldn't get a fair trial...the three charged were found guilty and stared coldly at the jury. No, Mr. Zelikow, those men are way more dangerous to Americans than whats happening in Mexico now. Laugh all you want when they fail to discharge the explosives in their shoes, or in their underwear- they may not be the brightest in this world- but it's not how bright they are...it's about how smart we are and understanding that we can't afford NOT to be vigilant especially in matters of airport security.

Yes, American Citizens are the key to our defense.

Yes, we have to put the war in Mexico in proportion to the war in Afghanistan.

Yes, the Guantanamo Detention Center tarnishes our credibility and our ideals. It is the essence of barbarism.

We had prisoners of war in our country during World War II so Congress is being ridiculous with their lack of funding.

"The Bush Administration initially believed that

Guantanamo was largely beyond the jurisdiction of the federal courts, and noncitizens held there

would not have access to the same substantive and procedural protections that would be required

if they were detained in the United States.4"

      Guantanamo is bizarro America.

"In the Bizarro world of "Htrae" ("Earth" spelled backwards), society is ruled by the Bizarro Code which states "Us do opposite of all Earthly things! Us hate beauty! Us love ugliness! Is big crime to make anything perfect on Bizarro World!."

Hey Charlie. Why not ask about distortions and omissions in the 911 report? Why not address the frustration millions of people around the world feel about this? I've watched your show for ages and sometimes you dig deep. Here, no.

Amazing lack of specifics here. While there is no doubt a conflict over modernization within Islam, the West enters the picture by arming and supporting one side, primarily to obtain oil. Even Israel is subordinate to this interest, valuable mainly for its military and intelligence. He is right to point out that we get hysterical about this, losing all perspective, but his idea of "terrorist" psychology is truly ridiculous.

He sure let the Saudis off the hook.

Perhaps, he should watch the other members of the Commission to learn how bad the Saudis have been with their funding and their EXTREME schools:
