Steve says he didn't have many lines in "Little Miss Sunshine" but he did have great lines as Frank.
Sheryl: [after Frank tried to commit suicide] I'm so glad you're still here.
Frank: Well, that makes one of us.
Frank: Good night Dwayne.
Dwayne: [scribbles on notepad] Don't kill yourself tonight.
Frank: Not on your watch Dwayne. I wouldn't do that to you.
Dwayne: [on notepad] Welcome to hell.
Frank: Thanks Dwayne. Coming from you that means a lot.
Dwayne: I wish I could just sleep until I was eighteen and skip all this crap-high school and everything-just skip it.
Frank: Do you know who Marcel Proust is?
Dwayne: He's the guy you teach.
Frank: Yeah. French writer. Total loser. Never had a real job. Unrequited love affairs. Gay. Spent 20 years writing a book almost no one reads. But he's also probably the greatest writer since Shakespeare. Anyway, he uh... he gets down to the end of his life, and he looks back and decides that all those years he suffered, Those were the best years of his life, 'cause they made him who he was. All those years he was happy? You know, total waste. Didn't learn a thing. So, if you sleep until you're 18... Ah, think of the suffering you're gonna miss. I mean high school? High school-those are your prime suffering years. You don't get better suffering than that.

Here is Steve's wife: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Carell
It is good their careers have so many intersections.
It is really good that she lets him talk about his make-out scenes with wonder women. (Sorry Steve ain't a believer.)

Charlie, regarding your question on Stephen Colbert and how to behave on his show--I would disagree with Steve Carell. I would say that it is best to try and make Stephen laugh.
So when you were on and he mimicked your Spartan set you might have said that putting a person in a dark room at a table does wonders to get them to talk freely.
By the way, Dr David Eagleman was on last week and he was very effective at conversation with Stephen. Dr. Eagleman would also be a good addition to your brain series.

Came off as surprisingly real, as the tv banter poised as comedy (The Office, Parks ... etc) leave me hoping for a PBS offering of note (not lately). Missed beg. Lincoln.
