This YouTube video tells the whole Potter story in just under two minutes and has about 3 million views: http://youtu.be/y57sYHIDP_Y
By the way, the kid who did it just graduated from High School and won Best Actor in the State of Texas in the UIL One Act Play competition.

Wow! ..David Denby says 'Harry Potter' .."goes back to Shakespeare"!!!
Thank You!! ..and "Na-Na" to Harold Bloom!!!
Good story, good vocabulary, GREAT audience participation..
(..much more than The Iliad today!)
But why is it (.."with tears"!!!) that these reporters hold out the ending as a sorrow, ..because it has Harry, Ginney, Hermoine, and Ron finding stable relationships and proffering another generation of human life???
Isn't that what we are supposed to do???

One of the reasons for the success of Harry Potter Inc. (creating the second richest woman in the UK--WOW) was that it was so naughty.
Witchcraft--especially in the Bible Belt--generated a great deal of controversy which lead to great deal of buzz for both the movies and books. Many churches discussed whether Harry Potter was good for their kids and I heard one Pastor say that it wasn't--if only for the reason that Harry is rewarded for lying.
Empowerment is another reason Harry Potter Inc. has done so well. Imagine being in a rotten family and then finding out, that not only do you have special powers, but that you are the chosen one. Many children have the rotten families but are only left to fantasize about having a special power to make them feel less powerless.
By the way, my daughter recently spent an entire day with friends watching all seven movies back-to-back on DVD. She still hasn't recovered enough to want to see the latest movie but I am sure she will.
Yes, Harry Potter is epic.

Seems to me the usual childish shlock. How she can justify peddling all that superstitious nonsense I don't know, but Dr Spock and many others have.
