I see billions of aid to Haiti here:

      http://www.guardian.co.uk/news/datablog/2010/jan/14/haiti-quake-aid-pledges-country-donations

Yet the cover of the book shows a kid in a puddle of water doing something--fishing, bathing?

      http://www.amazon.com/Haiti-After-Earthquake-Paul-Farmer/dp/1586489739/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1311037 777&sr=8-1

So perhaps show me the money? Stuck in government corruption in customs?

By having so many NGOs does it mean there is more of tribal government so nothing grand gets done?

I was hoping to see or hear that my donation is doing something positive but I guess not.

He is undoubtedly right that NGOs are a pain in the butt. Reading a few novels set in Haiti 28 yrs ago tho I'd think it would be the last place anyone would even want to visit.
