My wife and daughter both liked the movie. A local critic said too many plot holes and recycled Spielberg.
"You're going to need a bigger boat" http://youtu.be/8gciFoEbOA8 . I am going to have to go with the actor over the writer on this. Perfect facial fear then comic relief.

"pretty ordinary Spielberg", has always been pretty much better than most everything else, quite frankly (for me anyway). But this guy, judging by his TV shows and 'Mission Impossible' (BORING), is Absolutely NO Spielberg.
I guess he has mastered the fundamentals, but he doesn't have that intangible quality that Great Directors Have. He's just another uh, 'Aaron Spelling' very successful talentLESS wannabe Great Director, which he probably will never Be, but still successful; but a very Shallow success, to mimic his personality (like that 'Aaron Spelling' guy.
But this new movie looks interesting and something that the adults and kids can REALLY enjoy together. Probably, Thanks to Spielberg.

Looks pretty overwrought to me, also pretty ordinary Spielberg, which is to say pretty awful.
