How does Federal "Stewardship" and "Partnership's" help out when all your catch shares, to which you failed to mention, help your fellow man? Every job cut cuts the money that is put back into the economy. Every person who loses a job cuts back on food, gas and anything that is a not a necessity. Every person who loses a job decreases the amount of taxes that are collected.Your Catch Shares, sector Separation and Marine Spatial Planning do nothing except save your oceans and wipe the footprint of man away. Sustainable Fisheries means a zoo like area for people to look at. As Sustainable Cities means ICLEI and 2050 Plan in taking away our rights as Americans and if Dr. Jane enjoys such, Why does she not move to China. We have never had a "RACE" to fish! She has never fished for a living only as a scientist who thinks she knows, with the best available science, which, as NMFS has admitted is not that accurate. She mixes lies with best guesses and this is not a reason to shut down a fishery, on a best guess! She needs to stick with what NOAA Knows, best guess science!

Very interesting and informative interview with Dr. Lubchenko. Charlie had the right questions (as always), but there was insufficient time to explore any of these very weighty topics , e.g., sustainable fisheries strategy in the U.S. Would like to see this impressive guest back for an entire hour.

I saw this movie at the local community college: http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0492931/

If you watch it you will learn something CRITICAL!

The oceans are the key. Warm ocean water gives off CO2 while cold ocean water absorbs CO2. When temperatures rise, the average temperature of the oceans will slowly begin to rise as well and at a certain level, all the oceans become a net emitter of CO2.

Dudes, our Savior could soon be our Anti-Christ!!!

Dr. Lubchenco’s plate is full with many critically important issues including climate change and ocean acidification. Her NOAA goals of ensuring the best possible science and scientists and her promotion of policies to insure the integrity of science are commendable.

Where her goals lack substance is in the Pacific Northwest concerning wild salmon in the Columbia/Snake Rivers that are listed under the Endangered Species Act. Good salmon science has been profoundly influenced by political science for over a decade promoted primarily by the Bonneville Power Administration – the vendor of federal hydropower in the Columbia River Basin.

Salmon advocates in the Northwest had high expectations the Obama Administration would not submit to the Bush plan of flawed salmon science – but that was not to be.

The federal salmon plan is under review in federal court awaiting a decision.

Really! Climate change and yet delaying money for a weather satellite? When did we lose our rudder?

I'd think exploring the ocean considerably more important to humanity than going to Mars, or even the space station, and the ocean is also the proximate cause of all these tornadoes and floods. Not many ppl know that they also run a better weather website than any TV network or station: http://www.weather.gov/
