JohnGelles 05/02/2011 05:46 AM Report
The desire to make this world a better place can be felt by very successful people as well as others. The hard work of following through with such desire can and most oftern is accomplished by accomplished people -- as the saying goes, give the hardest jobs to people already doing the hardest things -- they are the doers, not just dreamers.
Charlie and Oprah are to be commended for helping this beauty arrouse nations to improve the way very poor mothers face pregnancy and delivery of our babies.
I visited Turlington's website and some of the links to her altruistic activities. She is an example to all of the intelligent woman with an enviable face and figure. She is not content to be envied -- and must be respected for that. She, no less than any of us with plainers looks, has nobel ambitions she will not ignore. I can do no less than salute her. And I do. On having babies at home, let me say in passing my suster and I were delivered at home by a midwife. My mother was afraid we might be switched if she went to the hospital. If we had been, ... well that is another movie.

i was reading through the comments and these two below were funny
------------------------
All noise, but especially: YOUR cell phone, YOUR earbuds leaking YOUR music, music in the gym, music of YOUR choice in MY airspace. YOUR talking on the phone in line in front of me at the grocery store, delaying my getting through with my business. And anyone texting while walking when they should be watching where they are going. I should look out for you? I don't think so.
And tourists underdressed for New York. People, buy some SHOES and wear them. Sneakers are for back home, along with your fanny packs.

Ellen T (33) Re: "tourists underdressed for New York. People, buy some SHOES and wear them. Sneakers are for back home"
Yes, by all means, dress up to show your respect for the rudest, possibly dirtiest city in the world. Don't even think of wearing sneakers that are comfortable to walk in when you could wear shoes made out of the hides of dead animals.
Mike (37) Re: "people who use credit not debit cards."
Sure, deal with your finances in an irresponsible manner, so you don't keep Mike waiting 5 seconds. Who cares if you lose track of how much is in your checking account as you use that debit card. On the other hand, I'll use my credit card, knowing I'm never overdrawing my checking account, and I'll be happy to get the 2% cash back when I pay my credit card off in full each month.
mar (45) Re: "people who don't catch non verbal clues."
Here's a verbal clue: If you want someone to know something, tell them.

he's extremely obese and fat so you know he's doing something wrong
doesn't have his own priorities in check
plus i don't think democrats are against empowering local people to address their own problems if that's true then that's something that needs to be fixed
that doesn't mean not having health and environmental regulations that apply at the local level
