Of course they were aware of Bernies Ponzi(ness). They themselves are bubble-making scammers of the public. The banks scam, exploit, launder drug money, arms sales, exploit the uneducated, create subprime ponzi mtgs (resell them as collateralized debt obligations), financially rape pillage and plunder every living (or dead) thing possible. Arm sales to the Taliban are not improbable. Any heinous thing conceivable from financing the Mexican drug cartels to impoverishing the poor even more thru exorbitant credit card fees and usurious interest, and general puppy-kicking type tactics are possible and expected from the creators of the world's financial crisis. While they frolic with impunity in their tax-free Bahama homes and yachts.
