      Very Cool--as seen on CNN.

Click the box of your countries on the right (you might start with China and United States).

Next click the play button--at the bottom of the screen in the middle.

Watch how the United States just suddenly takes off and then how China races to catch up after having quite some difficulty. The China story is amazing--especially in life expectancy and then in income per person.

You might do it again this time adding India--not as dramatic but still amazing.

No matter how introverted in its history, because of its widespread interests now, I'd think China will have to assume a place on the world stage, which means it will have to either support the US and Europe in their policeman's role or agree to share it. I don't see the UN doing it, and I don't think at the moment the world can do entirely without it. But I don't think they'll appreciate the grandstanding and abuse of power or the past. As he mentioned, a stable dollar is in everyone's interest. The widespread opinion that China is a threat, I might add, seems underscored by the position taken on this show that the spread of power eastward is the most important or alarming aspect of our times.
