Well, the peculiar thing about this is that ppl thought segregation more important than advancement. That was the argument in Brown, but even that was aimed at the latter. This movement was for dignity to begin with. Voting rights came later, and real integration is arguably still in process. The last, tho, is intertwined with economics, and we have yet to really deal with that. We are still redistributing and bribing ppl. I do not think you can achieve real civil rights until you achieve real independence for all, and that requires that they do it for themselves, are put in a position where not only they can, but they must.
