Sounds like typical TV-calibre tripe to me. I can probably count the number of really good American films my fingers and toes. I DON'T understand why ppl these days keep aping Hitchcock and the like. Why not make a new film about, say, good-do-bees, who for no apparent reason stray over the Iran-Iraq border? Or run around adopting children from 3rd world countries? Something that brings out the contradictions in the personalities of our time, not those of the past. I suppose it is because they want to believe they are still fighting fascism. Well, they aren't. For that matter, why don't they go somewhere else and erect a different sign? BTW, I like To Catch a Thief too, but only for the line where Cary Grant tells Grace her necklace is fake and she replies "But I'm not." It's fairly poor Hitchcock, but I have a strong feeling he likes the film for an entirely different reason.
