Didn't see this. Merely, reacting to REM's ". . . continuation of the Afghan adventure." Agree O could have gone a long way toward a grand place in history had he IMMEDIATELY decanted our involvement in Af-Pak. We are an economic banana republic now. It's time to act like it. Our geomilitary sway is toothless without ec. resources to back them up. Our fatuous bases in Germany, Okinawa etc world wide is futile, simplistic and economically draining. They add to our impotence rather than diminish it. We're run by a ship of fools and a bunch of high-school minded children.

If they did try so hard to get the policy right, it begs the question why they failed so miserably. History, I'm sure, will condemn him the attempt to satisfy everyone's demands instead of actually finding solutions, in particular for the reappointment of Bernanke, and continuation of the Afghan adventure. This was a time to point out and deal with American deficiencies, especially our increasing indebtedness, not play football with them. But he may yet turn out to be seen as a hero like FDR, such is the nature of this country.
