It is nice to hear a Palestinian leader speak about dealing 'violence out of the equation'. He also seems to be 'sane' in understanding that violence is self- defeating and disastrous for the Palestinians. He too honestly admits to a certain gap between 'Fatah' and 'Hamas'. However he does not honestly portray the character of 'Hamas'a radical Islam violently anti- Semitic and would- be- genocidal organization.
As for former President Carter he suggests a policy which would fundamentally undermine the security of Israel.
PS I find Charlie Rose has become unfair in relation to Israel. He asks questions which indict it beforehand and never asks the hard questions which would be asked from the Israeli point- of- view.

Where Americans and Israelis may see the virtue of his program in better security, I gather he sees it quite differently, as a means to bolster Palestinian pride and thus reduce their fears and animosities.

This guy struck me as too ingenuous for the real world. He gave me the impression that reconciliation with Hamas were merely a matter of acting like it were possible. Maybe I misread him. I hope so.
