Another excellent interview where not only do we learn about Signor Castelli and Madame Cohen-Solal, but Mr Rose you also charmingly reveal some things about yourself. Merci! To Madame Cohen-Solal, I look forward to making your acquaintance this weekend at the Art Gallery of Ontario in Toronto and listening appreciatively to you, once again, as you continue on your book tour. All the very best. Natasha ARORA

Many people don't practice or engage in religous rites and that practice or lack of has nothing to do with courage. Castelli had the rare ability of being able to recognize genius and the courage (this is where courage counts) to support artistic genius when no one else would dare. Jasper Johns is the most important artist that this country has ever produced. Thank you Leo Castelli. May the gods be providing you every blessing. Toni Scott

This was very interesting. The superlatives however need to be somewhat modified. There was American Art and certainly artists well beyond Johns and Rauschenberg long before Castelli appeared on the scene. The question of the value of the artists Castelli discovered is perhaps not a question to elements of the Art Establishment but I am not so sure is so apparent to many ordinary lovers of Art. Catelli's hiding of his Jewishness is not a sign of his courage. Solal- Cohen is pleasant charming and enthusiastic. But a grain of salt is in order.
