I apologize for not being "decisive" below, ..so, for what it matters:

      1) Balance the budget, so that America may continue to live in freedom.

      2) Destroy that Gulf Oil riser pipe (..since both the capture of the that oil, and the curtailment of the flow have failed to produce any time-available successful result). U.S. Navy ordinance could do this.

      3) Destroy the centrifuges producing the weapons which are already announced as being directed toward us.

      Have a great day.

It's great to watch a couple of old duffers, senior journalists, that is, discuss heroism, considering that they both were draft dodgers--in the defining moments of their manhood. Vietnam. How many died because of JFK's insecurity? That is a serious 'journalism' question. We know the answer is in excess of a million lives. Mathews continues to live in a "high school" world of rhetorically juvenile logic. In a different sense, he and Rose are both casualties of VietNam.

      Dear Mr. Matthews,

I have great respect for your achievement of position. Your educations, both academic and experiential, are quite far above the common.

Yet, of what use do you make that knowledge?

You sit at this table and retell anecdotes involving Lyndon Johnson, and "Tipsy" O'Neill.

Okay, fine, ..but have you also heard that our national debt has just this year crossed that line, and risen above, our formerly world-leading GDP??

I heard no mention of that national tragedy in your discussions here.

      ***

Have you also heard of that murderous Gulf Oil Leak which is rampaging off our southern shores?

It has already killed 11 Americans, polluted a thousand miles of beautiful seashore, and killed millions of sea animals.

Guess what? ..It is still gushing today! ..50 plus days in its attack upon us!!

We do nothing to stop it. Our President sits in his White House chair paralyzed with indecision, ..and you bring up not one word about it in this nationally televised segment speaking to America's "current affairs".

How can your enormous education leave you so heartless?

      ***

Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and Kim Jong-il are galloping us all toward a world nuclear war, ..Israel is today being fattened in our newspapers for an imminent kill, ..and yet you sit here and propound that some grandparents from Topeka waving an American flag, while respectfully placing their hands over their hearts, are the greatest dangers to our survival as a nation.

Please pardon me, ..but I must suggest that there is still a substantial piece of your education left to be accomplished, in order to truly complete your esteemed personal development.

Good luck to you now and always. May we all live to maturity.

      And may our nation.

There are more than enough leftist pundits on T.V., radio and everywhere else..where is the other point of view?.. we can learn from both sides..Put Sarah Palin on the show and other like minded folks..even though I don't agree with most of what they say..hell, yeah they are interesting to hear and study and sometimes very funny

    5. horn  06/13/2010 06:55 PM Report

At least Chris Matthews mans up; "We had this argument in high school about the role of the federal government. We argued whether we should use the commerce clause to justify the civil rights, and we came to the conclusion we’ve got to stretch the constitution and use the commerce clause. Better than waiting for three quarters of the states to agree to a civil rights measure." He also uses the word "amnesty" in the interview unashamedly. Charlie, give us more lefties who aren't pathological liars so the people who haven't figured out why its so virtuous to "stretch the constitution" by high school can understand the way things really are.

You see though brats, that's not the way Rushie works. His M.O. is that everybody is against the poor, misunderstood right wingers. They fan the flame to their uneducated choir.

They're never going to be perceived as anything but the media elite, even though they make more money than practically every talking head. In short, they love playing the faux rage against the leftest media members.

    7. bratschekind  06/12/2010 12:28 AM Report

Charlie, please have on more guests like Chris Matthews. He's a lefty, but he an objective one, unlike so many of your other guests like David Remnick, Jonathan Alter, etc. If you have those guys on why not have on Rush Limbaugh, etc. They have about the same objectivity as him.

    8. REMant  06/11/2010 02:08 PM Report

God, I hope the Republican party doesn't have to choose between Romney and Palin, both of whom have been dubbed fake in the press and by the electorate. Certainly the way to continue the party's tailspin and Obama in office. Re Rand Paul I presume Chris has never owned or operated an apartment house. One parallel with the Bush admin is undoubtedly that it hasn't asked anyone to sacrifice, but another is appearing oblivious to public opinion.
