Willie Nelson is a great composer and singer. He deserves to be officially named as a National Treasure of the United States. He is loved and admired. Thank you for your talent, Willie.

Dear Sir,
Thank you for your singing, and playing!
Yes, you are a crazy great writer, and you sing from all the way down yonder, ..but may I take a few beats to mention how wonderful your guitar playing is?
Sure, I love Django, BB King, and Doc, ..but I know of no one who rides his horse as well as you!
Maybe it is the "ear training" that you singers remember to do, ..but you can move from a root to a 9th, or a flat-seventh more assuredly (..and accurately!) than any other picker out there waltzing across Texas!
You've taught millions, Mr. Nelson, ..just like Mr. Rose!
Thank you!

Does anyone have an extra bus? I want to fight the aging process with style, graciously.
I'd like to live my second half happier than the first/some-body find me a driver/and make it one that doesn't have a bar room thirst, for the wild side/come on let's go on one long ride/

Four days before the table talk mentioned below, visiting parents of a friend agreed they fell in love while dancing to a Willie Nelson song twenty-five years ago. Which one? From what was said and sung by both, I'm fairly sure it was "You're Always On My Mind".

There are times when out of the blue - eleven days later - you get to use what you've learned on Charlie's shows. May 2010 Holiday weekend, sitting in the sunshine in Canada, and no, Tallahatchie Bridge has nothing to do with Me and Bobby McGee. Kris Krisofferson wrote the latter song. Ah, but after watching this show, I was too confident with that fact. It scared off the bet, because one of the men around the table remembered, "You're right. Hey, guess what? Last time I was in Hawaii, I ate in a restaurant where one of Kris's friends is a regular. Guess who it is?" and my replying "Willie Nelson" ... correct as it was ... also earned me no money.

I have to hand it to ole Willie, he hasn't aged a bit in the last 35 years. He looked old as the hills then and he still looks exactly the same. . How does he do it?! :)
I hope he can hang around for another 35, he'll be our new George Burns.

Goddamn, they just don't mak'em like this anymore. These current shams don't hold a candle to Willie, Johnny, Waylon, Merle et, al.

Altho a lot of ppl don't realize it, country music has always been the most popular music in this country, and if you stop to think about it, virtually the only popular songwriting still being done.
