      Whether we save or not will depend on whether there actually is fat in the system that can be cut (assuming it cannot be passed on in some different way), otherwise the healthcare bill will simply end up shifting the burden, and be a form of redistribution. I don't think the problem really is Congress so much as it is the Federal Reserve. Or in a larger sense, the process by which Congress has evaded its responsibilities and sloughed them off onto independent agencies and the executive. This began in the Civil War and WWI when the means became available for deficit financing in a big way, and it is really a form of corruption all by itself.
