The media were made quite aware of what was happening in those several instances and chose not to see it. Our media is simply not objective anymore, and they richly deserve to go under, for they are no better than the ppl on YouTube. But Watergate was a non-issue if there ever was one and illustrates how the media runs after petty scandals and such, instead of the real stories. I think he IS a little conceited, as was Alistaire Cookie. Maybe that's why they both chose to become Americans. Re public impotence I said the same thing just last Friday on the Moyer's website: "I am not sure any of this will do any good, because ppl are just too stupid and uninformed to know what they need, and so, even if they succeed in protests, it is likely they will be duped. On the other hand, with better education, reform will succeed without the demonstrations." He is, of course, right about innovation, too. A country has to be run like a good sports team. The farm system is the most important part, and letting the players play is the only way to keep them motivated and develop independence.
