What a joke these characters are, years of transffering the US tax burden to the middle class, while they pay a paltry percentage of their income, leaving behind generations under the yoke of soaring deficits, then having the audacity to spend their billions on foreign countries whose citizens contributed nothing to their tax evaded fortunes, while the very Americans, who spent the money to buy their products and shouldered their share of the tax burden, plus the billionaires share rot in the streets. First take your money to the ghettos of America and the back country of Appalachia, set up some health care clinics in America to help the sick and dying who can't afford health insurance for their families, because the tax burden of supporting you freeloading billionaires is bankrupting their family budget. Even Buffet admits he should pay more tax, but I don't see him spending any money on changing the tax code. The immorality of you watching American poor and middle class, the source of your wealth rot while you trumpet your contributions to African and South American children is sickening.( "or, you know, you go down and kiss your child good night, and you’re not worried about, you know, what are they going to wake up with tomorrow? What disease might they have? We’re not on this crisis of life and death.") Oh really Melinda, what privileged planet are you living on, kiss your child and you know, not worried they are going to get shot to death on their way to school, guess this doesn't qualify in wifey poos mind as a crisis of life and death. And if you run out of desperate Americans to help, you can use the rest of your donations to start paying a fair tax rate , how about 95% to start to make up for past tax loopholes and corporate welfare. Let's see if you or your wall street co-conspirators were to make say a billion, after taxes you'd be left with 50 million. Think you and wifey poo could make it through the year?

Hats Off to Bill and Melinda Gates... they are one of the "most" inspiring couple in the World. They have contributed greatly to our planet's needs and to people's needs. Not only do they have the funds, obviously, but the compassion, empathy... generosity amongst other attributes, to make great changes in this world for future generations.
They are the perfect example of how others that are blessed with monies to give back to society to make it a better place for themselves, their children and grandchildren and future generations to come.
God Bless you for making wonderful use of the gifts God has provided you both.

The reason why Africa is as destitute as it is, is because the West has made it that way by destroying its native societies, both thru its direct intervention in them, and more subtly thru the money paid for its resources, which drives up prices locally, starts wars, and creates corruption, and via its impact on climate. And it does not make sense to throw thousands of ppl out of work, as Carnegie did, for instance, in order to build them libraries. But I've written about this at length already.
It is not clear whether vaccines may, like antibiotics, end up accelerating the mutation race, at least with viruses. In any case sanitation, nutrition and the like are clearly more important since new bugs seem to hatch in poor conditions, and these are a function of our economic, not our philanthropic policies.
You can't teach teachers to teach, and even if you could, the educational establishment is that last place where you'd expect to find it. A load of studies have found that. And without a doubt the "incentive" for it is not financial, anymore than it is for scientists and engineers. We expect too many credentials of most professions, anyway, credentials, which often don't even relate to job requirements. It is really a form of gatekeeping in many cases, and I've known very successful ppl, both monetarily and technically, who did terribly in school, or even, as in the case of her husband, dropped out.
