Before Hamas decided to not renew the cease-fire, there was no food shortage, let alone starvation, prior to Hamas' termination of a six-month cease-fire on December 19.
A Hamas dug-tunnel was used to kill two soldiers in Israel proper, and kidnap a third, Cpt. Gilad Shalit, in 2006 (when plenty of food and medicines were flowing into Gaza), who still has not been returned to Israel.
And how come the world forgets that Gaza also has a border with Egypt, through which the arab brotherhood could help alleviate the palestinian suffering? Or is Israel now so omnipotent that it controls even arab states?

Mr.Jimmy Carter is a noble humble person very much like a family man, neither shroud nor crook like Nixon,Dick Chenny,Bushs,Sara Palin /
Mc Cain (big liars without moral or ethics).
Many US presidents don't have guts to accept
inconvenient truth for their own unjustified
interests. Mr.Carter is not afraid to tell the truth & that's the problem with diplomacy world
If US is really interested to bring peace in
the world, it can. US must not try to divide
the world into two super power zones, rather
work together & bring confidence to every one's
heart that it is working for all human being
equallly for equal justice to prevail. US must
not take any body's side rather work impartial.

True Leader. Even 64% of Israelis think that Israel should negotiate with Hamas and 70% believe in 2 state solution. Unfortunately, the Bush admin and Olmert govt are opposed to peace and therefore continue the support of illegal Israeli settlements and bombing children in Gaza. Radicalizing the Palestinians has always been the goal to subvert any chances for peace and destroying any potential partner. No negotiations with Hamas takes the world 20 yrs. backwards when the PLO was not recognized by Israel and US.

Like all zionists that have as their 'chosen' self-appointed god-given right to kill (40:1) in the process mock their own holocaust into a hollow cost. The Nazi's are beaming up at their protoges - slobbering over the cruel effeciency they've passed on to their more eager pupils.

Thank you Charlie for giving an opportunity to the the voice of truth. Jimmy Carter is a brave, courageous and a truth seeker. After media being irresponsible for years by being the administration free voice, it is about time for the media to give the voice of truth at least a fraction of the opportunity it has given the Bush's administration propeganda. I do wish more programs on cable TV had the guts to interview Jimmy Cater and give his voice eqaul opportunity as they do the opposition voice. Helping Americans not to be ignorant in their undersatnding of complex situations like the one in the mideast.

Jimmy Carter is an ego-maniac, who thinks he is humble and superior to the rest of mankind. In reality he is vacuous, self-defensive, pretty ignorant and easily flattered and duped. This however does not make a dent upon his sense of self-importance. He has made himself effectively a representative of Hamas, and Hamas is an organization whose charter includes passages from an antisemitic book, and a call for the destruction of Israel. He was not welcome in Israel, contrary to what he alleged. Israelis know when someone comes in friendship, regardless of the fact that many of them think their government needs to talk to Hamas. Carter is no friend of Israel. He made it pretty clear in his book.

Surely you will ask him about the Saudi money he accepts for his foundation and otherwise.Which hardly makes him a non-interested player.

Thanks, Charlie, for that awesome interview. I only wish that the majority of the folks who naively believe that the US and Israel want peace in the Middle East would have watched this show. But you know what they say: no brain, no pain.
I only wished our current president had the ethical drivers that Jimmy Carter has shown, again and again, to posses.
Thanks for your work.

Thank you, Charlie Rose, for having the courage to bring before the American public such truth seekers as you did last night in your interview with (former) President Carter, a man whose track record is clear and consistent, revealing that he is a peace seeker, a champion of liberty, and a debunker of the kinds of myths that are coming from the current nay-sayers at the White House.
Thank you, Jimmy Carter, for having the courage to reject the notion that peace in the Middle East is impossible, and for laying the blame for failed peace talks directly at the doorsteps of those responsible: The Bush Administration and Israel.

Thank you for the Jimmy Carter interview. After your quick review of assessments of his recent trip by Hadley, Negroponte, and Schultz- but three of the current administration's war criminal stooges, the clarity in President Carter's voice stood in stark contrast to the disingenuous posturing of those men. Were it that there were but one man or woman of his compassion and integrity affiliated with the current administration. President Carter is a beacon of hope for Peace in a very dark world. How different it is to hear commentary on the Middle East that can be trusted. How sad it is to hear that the ungracious men currently in charge of this nation set out to thwart his endeavors. By their deeds, you shall know them.

Jimmy Carter has again proven himself to be a courageous man with the highest integrity. Given the politican climate in this county and the unwillingness of other politicans to advocate for the equitable treatment of Palestinans, he is brave to come forward with this position. There will be no peace in the Middle East and the U.S. will not viewed favorably in the Muslim world until the Palestinans have security and opportunities for advancement.
