I am perhaps too old, but I don't think that any time I would have felt I could have written accurately about my high school or college yrs. When younger, because I wouldn't have seen the reason behind it, and when older, because I would not be sure of the facts. Youth is, at it were, wasted on the young. Fundamentally, I think you have to take whatever teens say on its face, and whatever adults write about it must be a matter of hypothesis.
