      Perhaps.

So no quarrel with accuracy, it's all about being topical?

I'm anti-killing, murder, exploitation and any number of other things. But Semite? I don't know what that is. If they qualify I'm anti. Do they kill, murder, maim, exploit, steal, humiliate, bully? Even if there's an Arab contingent and they do those kind of things, they qualify and I'm guilty. Of cowardice for damn sure.

There is a cowardly anti- Semite who posts frequently on this site and calls himself 'Tartuffe'.

He is vulgar and hate- filled and his comments have often nothing to do with the program at all.

Perhaps a new rule should be initiated in the 'Charlie Rose' talkback in which the comments are actually related to the discussion on the program.

This just in. New jersey and Wash. D.C. have adopted each other (simultaneously) to form the first non-contiguous border state. Values are all the cohesion needed, the courts have ruled. (Israel has dropped their petition as they concluded they have the system co-opted under any configuration.)

The new state flag consists of 50 bowls holding two rotten apples each in a corroded inverted capitol dome within a six-pointed star. Not enough symbolism? Add seven stripes representing blood spilled in quest of greedy exploitation, along with six stripes for the cowardice required.

Official state sponsored Saturday Sabbath congregations hold Corruption 101 classes in bribery acceptance, child molestation and kidney harvesting from the unsuspecting and underprivileged for resale at unseemly profits in Israel.

Shalom to us. Goyim kidney stew aboard our state yachts every night. Pre-pubescent boys WELCOME!

Actually given our employment situation and the needs in the Middle East, we might want to double the size of the Army instead of adding a division and send them all over there, if we are not going to just get out instead.

      For Ydef.

First of all I recommend the articles of Barry Rubin and his MERIA website. He is one of the most astute commentators on the 'Middle East' and today July 27 he has a Jerusalem Post article prolfiling the major leaders of Fatah in which he says that the great majority including Abbas are against real peace with Israel.

The trick is as follows. Abbas says he will make a deal with Israel on the conditions that it allows the Palestinian refugees who left in 47' and 48 and their descendants to return to live within the Jewish state. The original number of refugees is estimated at five - hundred to seven- hundred fifty thousand. The Palestinians are the only refugee group who the U.N. counts the third - generation descendants of as refugees. The number is then perhaps as many as five million. Clearly the demand to return them into the borders of 67' Israel is a demand for demographic destruction of Israel.

Thus it might be said that Abbas is for an 'agreement' but the only one he would accept is the one in which Israel would commit suicide. I don't think that truly is a genuine peace offer.

The fact is that it is not only Brent Snowcroft , and Charlie Rose who seem wholly oblivious to the true Fatah position. The U.S. State Dept. and Government in betting on the Fatah horse as moderate also puts its head in the sand. They need an Arab partner for peace. There is no realistic one. So they invent one.

I would also add this is not said because most Israelis wish to avoid making concessions. The majority of Israelis according to many polls would agree to major concessions, probably withdrawing from the greatest part of the West Bank (Biblical Judea and Samaria). They just are more aware of what 'Fatah' actually preaches and teaches than are the American government. They too have the bitter experience of two withdrawals in the past three years for which they were rewarded with major violence by the other side.

So again it is not out of a desire to escape peace but in fact to reach a real peace that so many in Israel are skeptical of Abbas and Fatah.

I've always admired Brent Scowcroft, as he hails from the 'pragmatic' foreign policy camp which the Obama administration mirrors in the way they approach the world as Charlie pointed out. Opposite of the ideologically driven, reckless, unilateral (at least during his first term) GWB foreign policy, Scowcroft couldn't be more different in his measured, utilitarian, consensus building approach that was so sadly lacking in the former GOP administration. I fondly remember his excoriation of W's administration during the buildup to the Iraq war.

I agree that he does have a physical resemblance to Mr Magoo that I can't help but find comical though he couldn't be more different in disposition.

      ShalomFreedman,

Please cite recent examples of Fatah leadership stating unequivocally that they would never accept a Jewish state. Since Arafat died, I would like to know of specific instances in which Abu Mazen (president Abbas), representing Fatah's leadership, spoke of never accepting a Jewish state to the Palestinians. I see this old tired argument trotted out by pro-settler Israelis in the Ha'aretz comments section without ever any citations that demonstrate its present day currency.

    7. ShalomFreedman  07/26/2009 03:53 PM Report

      1) Snowcroft recommends dealing with Iran but does not say exactly what that means. Accepting them as a nuclear power? Allowing them to continue to suppress that large share of their population which is opposed to the present regime?

      2) Snowcroft recommends making friends with the Afghanistani people without considering whether they want the U.S. as their friends. Perhaps the real worry for the U.S. in that area should be the concern about a nuclear Pakistan disintegrating, and turning into a radical Islamic state?

      3) Snowcroft recommends pressure on Israeli government as if Peace were a one- sided matter. He does not even mention that the alleged partner for peace 'Fatah' repeatedly tells its own people that it will never recognize the Jewish state.

      4) Praises for China's becoming a 'reasonable partner' as it continues to suppress its minorities. But not a word about the real problem, the massive Chinese hold on the U.S. economy , the trade- balance, the deficit.

      5) In general a quite disappointing interview in which Charlie Rose does not challenge or present any real critical questioning.

      Brent,

Abandoning democracy, ethnic cleansing, and the outright elimination of a two-state solution represent the long-held dreams of Benjamin Netanyahu, Avigdor Lieberman, Likud, AIPAC, the American Enterprise Institute, Heritage Foundation, Charles Krauthammer, The Brothers Kagan, William Kristol, Irving Kristol, Midge Dector, Norman Podhoretz, John P. Normanson (google it), Maxwell Boot, Abraham Foxman, Charlie's pal Marty Peretz, Marty Indyk and his lover, Dennis Ross, Sheldon Adelson, Irving Moskowitz, and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy. These individuals and organizations want Israeli domination of the Middle East - with or without the Jersey-based organ dealership.

Why I do need to hear and see Brent Scowcroft make an ass out of himself yet one more time?

Charlie, which of your Georgetown Sugar Daddies financed the appearance of Uncle Brett, the Mr. Magoo of Foreign Policy, on your show yet one more time?

Did this come directly from Lally Weymouth or merely through one of her offshore shell companies?
