      Charlie,

      You feelin' OK?

First, you hit a home run with the Judge and then you follow it up with a triple to the gap with the three scribes on the Supremes.

But this piece with Elmore Leonard may have been the single finest interview you have ever done. Insightful, inspirational, and damned humorous to boot!

You're making me nervous, Charlie. You plan on giving Bibi What A Yahoo two uninterrupted hours next week? Maybe sitting down with Dick Cheney and his chief beneficiary, Liz, for a full session to wax poetic about torture? Or let Hank Paulson spend an hour praise all things Goldie and China?

Something's up, Charlie. It's got to be. You're doing such fine work this week that I'm getting nervous. Very, very, very nervous.

Crime fiction, not to be confused with mystery writer.
