      Well, I am certainly happy to see they aren't taking this seriously. The Illuminati and Freemasonry may want to sue nevertheless, even if the Church doesn't. After all, Mozart was a Freemason, as were many of the Founding generation. They were freethinkers in the sense of believing in, if not always free will, at least that God was not capricious and obeyed his own laws, thus allowing nature to be studied and serve as a guide. This is not in itself at odds with Church doctrine, for it has always maintained itself by defending catholicity, in particular, the unity of the Trinity, which represents the sources of division, and in politics as well, and it was this that was really behind the Inquisition. However, the Church's inevitable emphasis on tradition, as with Tory thinking everywhere, has been a considerable deterence to education, science, and historical inquiry, which were the reasons for both Renaissance and Reformation. During the French Revolution the Jeffersonians were alleged by a Massachusetts Federalist minister of being in league with the Illuminati. The questions of science and religion and are far more interesting than conspiracy theories, tho, if less dramatic.
