      JustinMcCarty, LeighPadilla, AnnVictor, and RedDorham,

Next time Mr. Welch and Miss Suzy order you to type phony praise for one of their books on a public website, try not to make it so blatant and evident that your spin was spun by the same person from the same IP address.

Excellent show...have heard nothing but great things about the 10-10-10 book and Suzy...and her appearance on CR only

made me want to go out to get the book immediately. Makes

so much sense-to give meaning and value towards the decision making process. I know I've certainly made some rash or gut response decisions that could have benefited from a more rational approach like 10-10-10. Kudos Charlie!

BTW-I see that both Suzy and her husband are on Twitter. Wow!

10-10-10 is a great decision making tool for women. We're often made to feel the pressure of having to 'please everyone' and this process allows us to give resolution (reasons) to our kids, family, and work related issues that totally make sense. As working women- we're always faced with choosing between our careers and work/family issues, and 10-10-10 provides an effective (I know-I use it!!!) solution that allows you to navigate through life's challenging issues. HIGHLY RECOMMEND this book, and LOVE LOVE LOVE Suzy Welch and Charlie. ;-)

I've been an avid follower of both Ms.Welch and her husband Jack Welch, and watch Charlie Rose almost every night. When I first heard about 10-10-10 (from Welch's articles in Oprah's O Magazine )the concept intrigued me and I shared the article with several of my clients and friends. Together we utilized the concept and find it gave us more authenticity and reasoning to our life/career and family decisions. 10-10-10 gives you definition and perspective to resolve literally any issue that presents itself. I find no positive result in attacking her or Charlie for the segment. It was empowering to say the least, as a woman to hear her speak and remind us that "values" are important in the decision making process. I wholeheartedly agree with her. Judge for yourself and you'll see. It works!

I saw the Suzy Welch segment when it ran last week and found it thoroughly engaging and informative, and as someone who has also read the 10-10-10 book-I've found the process useful and something more people could benefit from, rather than condemning Charlie and her for providing information and solutions to help people make better decisions.

Suzy's work, if one can call it that, at the Harvard Business Review is little more than a microcosm of all the reasons for the disaster of the world economy.

Never have so many been so unqualified and yet so greedy as to destroy the financial system the world over. Some did it with credit default swaps and collateralized debt obligations, others with the droning of Milton Friedman and Ayn Rand in their ears, and yet another group of gold-diggers and marital Katrinas who plied their trade on their backs in little more than an upscale knockoff of the world's oldest profession.

Too bad Charlie, in his endless penchant for access and bucks, has to allow these types, whether Jeffrey Sachs and the hedge fund boys or Bobby Zoellick and Jane Welch's feeble stand-in, to spew their mindless drivel on public broadcasting.

Next up on Charlie Rose: The Bobby Rubin Rehab Tour.

I'm all for self-examination, but this sounds like bologna to me. The real distinction to be made here is whether you are dealing with a contemplative or active person, a person, in other words, of reason or of will, whether he or she is basically a scientist, who needs to see the entire solution before acting, or someone who not merely muddles through, but elevates questions of esteem and acceptance, jealousy and envy, above those of compatibility and educability. A contemplative will be called a loner, stoic or narcissist (secondary narcissism) for wanting to participate with others on the basis of shared ideas. Actives are concerned with status or relationships, the latter, usually identified with the female sex, being based on conditions and contracts, and instead of giving or sharing, they express love through buying. It seems to me, btw, that she hasn't made up her mind yet which she is, though her career path suggests an opportunist.

Is it just me or has this show been airing a lot of "fluff" the past month? Heck, maybe two months! With all the things going on in the world that have significant and serious impact on us and others in the world why all the interviews with hollywood, TV, and authors of fiction or non-fiction that is fluff?

    9. jjg  05/04/2009 05:10 PM Report

easier said than done, thus why less than 10% live the life they want to live.

example, if you divorce and are the one paying the alimony check then you don't have a choice but stay in the job that pays the bills.

if you are lucky enough to marry Jack Welch then you can do anything you want....

    10. robert  05/02/2009 01:34 PM Report

Charlie you are choosing guests for the wrong reasons. Politically correct reasons.

Nothing wise about this woman. She is an overachiever that passes her neurosis onto others.

Buy my book and you will see bla bla bla. C'mon Charlie, so many other more important people you can have on.

When she started talking, I thought, 'wow, what a nutty lady', she sounded like a cartoon character in a bad sitcom. And when she finally let Charlie talk and ask questions, she seemed to become a little more normal. But she is far from that, I have worked for women like her, and they are little human tornadoes. I love them and I hate them. <smile>
