      Dear Charlie,

Thank you SO MUCH for your magnificent homage to Bill Buckley on his passing. All those interviews were so special to see again as he was utterly unique in all his patrician elegance & Jesuitical brilliance.

Just one small personal note from me. I went to Crofton House School in Vancouver with Pat Buckley & on the maiden voyage of the SS United States to England, they were up in lst class & I was down in the lowest class! On coming on board Pat immediately scanned the list of ship's passengers & sent me a note to come & join their party of friends. That was Pat for you, incredibly generous & kind to an old school chum even though SHE had risen to the top of New York Society. So I did meet Bill & that crossing was one of the highlights of my life! Thank you ...thank you...there were tears in my eyes too at the end as there was in yours. We shall not see the like of either Buckley soon again!

      Most humbly,

      Evelyn
