Indian IT industry is going strong & expanding. Indian IT industry does not focus on the "cheap" market, but on the research intensive, cutting edge, high quality market. It is very sustainable in the long run.

IndianDalit sounds like a disgruntled Pakistani blogger. I've seen many of them engage in this kind of false propaganda. I've had many friends from the Dalit community. They have many quotas which makes it very easy for them to get into good schools. I know many of them working in top IT companies, drawing a wealth salary, contributing positively to the economy. He projects an image as if the society promotes brahmins & discriminates against dalits - not true. Job market is open & fair. Anyone can compete.

The entire Indian software industry is waiting to implode catastrophically in the coming years. People like Nandan can come here and present a positive image of India to the West, but let tell me you, the majority are growing largely disillusioned with life there.

      Read the following article: http://www.socialistparty.org.uk/articles/7129

As for me, I am considered a 'dalit' or 'untouchable' in India, and would not have the same opportunities as the upper class brahmins who are the majority in India's software industry. However, here in the U.S.A, I am respected and I'm able to successfully manage and operate my own company and stand on equal footing with my American peers.

A few weeks ago I sent an email to the producer of The Charlie Rose Show but I never received an answer from CRS.

There one guest who I am looking forward to see on The Charlie Rose Show, and when Charlie brings this particular guest back I hope he will interview him for the entire hour.

I am looking forward to the opinions of Noam Chomsky regarding the total transformation of the US economic system into something completely new, and his opinions about the US economy going forward into the future.

Most Americans still think that we will go back to business as usual, and most of them will be in shock when the new reality sets in.

I for one would love to hear a panel of experts critique the president's Afghanistan venture. Why not invite Zbigniew Brzezinski to take part? From what we have been hearing on Charlie Rose, one would think there is no loyal opposition.

Both Mr. Nilekani & Tom Friedman are optimistic about India's future. But neither addressed the question of how India will cope when the Ganges dries up & the southern coast is drowned. Both of which, according to the latest estimates, are likely to occur by 2020. It seems that none of the pundits who predict what a wonderful future technology will give us take global climate change into consideration. Charlie, you should not let them get away with this.

T.Friedman and Al Hunt...the 2 greatest guests on this show

It should not be overlooked that global conglomerates can be just as imperialistic as any 19th c European power. But I thought this segment was to be about India, and probably not a laughing matter either.

I saw Mr Nilekani's short interview on the Daily Show last week and rejoiced when I saw him scheduled on the Charlie Rose show. I was however also a little disappointed when I saw Tom Friedman was scheduled along side him, and feared he wouldn't be able to shut up.

Sadly my fears were confirmed and Friedman just can't shut up. His metaphors in particular are hopeless and obscure the debate more than anything else.

I did nevertheless appreciate Mr Nilekani's input and believe a full hour ALONE would have brought so much more insight into his country's present and potential future.
