      I thought this was pretty vague, too. Despite Charlie's best efforts, I came away feeling that it is an attempt to cash-in on the Survivor TV show stuff by an out-of-work reporter. That may not take a way from its value, but I don't think "survival" is in any way a unitary phenomenon. I don't know what SERT's may have to do with it, but it is certainly true that some ppl are more cognizant than are others, esp those I see driving around Washington. I think it is a fundamental difference affecting many other things, such as ethics and religion, probably also mathematics and music. Tho I would think that would mean that value of support, for instance, would be perceived differently.
