Lucian Freud ..Taschen publisher (perhaps only recently available in English) Brilliant writing by Sebastian Smee (who Charlie should interview). I'm not formally educated in "art" ...this book is the best thing I've read, actually the only thing that's made sense in any sort of depth...better than anything on Picasso, for example.

Lucian Freud's figurative paintings are perhaps not as intense as Egon Schiele's work, but they share a certain psychological stance that makes them intriguing.

Most likely Sigmund Freud's ghost is in the room, whether the grandson likes or not.
