Ray? The "Wisdom" of crowds? I honestly believe the opposite, as in mob mentality. If the demand created by

television viewing audiences is what is accountable for

the selection we currently find in our cable accounts then

I'm right and you're wrong. Of course quality is in the eye of the beholder but that kind of relativism is only legitimate and useful if you resort to it for your profits.

If anyone tells me that New Jersey Shore is as worthy a

pasttime as Shakespeare for your kids to grow up being able to recite the libretto of then I'm right and you're wrong again. Then we have those fathers of the Teaparty movement Beck and Limbaugh who have succeeded in dumbing down the national debate to where our President and his family find themselves having to endure that mobs' bigotry and greed. Within each individual lies the oft unexpressed wisdom that has the ability to see past and resist the peer pressure and viscerally gratifying feedback of mobs. We sense it in our most quiet moments, moments when we're furthest from the noise that clips any contemplation

leading to a diplomacy that mobs care little for.
