The shows this whole week from San Francisco have been so refreshing. Seems Mr. Rose comes alive when he changes environment. Or maybe being a seventh generation Californian I am just biased. Would like to see more shows from Seattle as well.
I remember a PBS special Mel Brooks and others did regarding the 50's show Your Show of Shows and how it was noted that when TV first came out, comics didnt have to spell the visuals out to the viewer, because most people who owned a TV set were better educated and knew how to think. As more and more people could afford a TV set, the shows dumbed down to meet the needs of the viewer.
But at least TV and high tech goodies have one thing in common in 2009. They still offer enough choices to meet the needs and desires of those who are better educated.

I really liked what Marissa said about living in an information rich environment. Some people see that environment and are "overwhelmed" and others see it and "revel" in it! It is almost a reflection of that person's personality! Like Charlie said that he roams far and wide in the Internet because of his curiosity. Some people have it and some don't, especially in this information age. I see my role as an educator to help my students build filters for that information stream kind of like a water purifier so that they get the "healthiest" information for their use.
