This was a fun interview! I like what he does with his index finger at 11:47 — how he wags it around! I replayed that bit a couple times just to see him do it; the man's gesticulation very much enhances his humorous nature.

Frank B.: some people take their fairytales way too seriously--you. Go to your local drug store, buy your favorite candy or ice cream, go home, sit down on your favorite chair in your place, and relax... Lewis Black is one of the most brilliant commedians of all time. I've seen him live and it was by far in itself beyond what religious fanatics can call a "religious" experience. Let's face it: the magician from Galilee is becoming less and less relevant in this OUR 21st century...

Lewis and logic? Don't be fooled. He's complaining about Christians taking "his people's" book, the Old Testament, and interpreting it with their own theological and social commentaries (like on gay marriage). But Black should realize there's nothing illogical about what Christians are doing with "the Jews' book." Jesus himself was a Jew, and throughout his teachings, established the continuity of his ideas, commands, and actions with the Jewish Scriptures. The same can be said of Paul and other New Testament writers. To imply that the Old Testament should be off limits when the Christians make their biblical-theological-sociological assertions is an attempt to tear out the heart of the Christian faith. Furthermore, Black should not undercredit the impact "his people's" religion has had on other religions and worldviews. If it were not to have had such a real impact, it would have died out a long time ago.

I adore Lewis Black's brilliance and delivery style above all other comedians, cept Carlin, but unfortunately he's dead. Loved this interview!

If it is anything like hall monitor, sign me up. I'd love to give Charlie demerits and make him stay for study hall.

A very good and entertaining interiew. Charlie let some good lines come through, or should I say Lewis's New York background was able to push trough what he wanted to say-fortunate for us.

What was the name of the comedian that Lewis Black mentioned (and whom you knew) as giving a "perfect" commedy performance? Kevin ...??? . Black saw him (and followed his act that night) at "Catch a Rising Star" in the late 1980s.

Continually enjoy your series, Charlie! THANK YOU!
