I don't know who or what ever gave the notion to these guys that they are funny. Will Let's face it people: Will Ferrell IS NOT FUNNY. And all the movies that he does are not exactly even close to entertaining. These guys are not getting my 10 bucks anymore, no way, this is the end...

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE TELL MR. MCKAY THAT THERE ARE REAL COWBOYS IN THE WORLD AND THAT COWBOY HATS KEEP THE MELANOMA AWAY. I LOVE THEIR HUMOR BUT THEY GOTTA GET OUT OF LA AND SEE THE WORLD. MR. MCKAY-THERE ARE A LOT OF COWBOYS OUT HERE IN THE DEEP WEST AND BUSH AIN'T ONE OF 'EM! CHECK IT OUT.

I am sure these are nice guys but I just can't get into Will Ferrell or Ben Stiller either. They are doing the same basic movie over and over again - just a different situation each time. Actually, Mr. Reilly looks like an early version of "Larry" of the Three Stooges. The latter were also doing the same thing in different situations but I must say they were funnier and their verbal patter and timing were much better. Check out the "gas station" scene in "Violent is the Word for Curly" on "youtube." It is hilarious. And yes, the "bunkbed" routine was perfected by the Stooges in several shorts with a slightly different take in "Pain in the Pullman." Curly Howard was a physical comedy genius.
And, of course, the Marx Brothers were fabulous as well.

Hey, I never knew Charlie did a Children's version of his program! Oh...weren't the clips from Will Ferrell's and John C. Reilly's insipid so-called comedy meant to appeal to the Six year old!
I like Ferrell and I like Reilly, but their latest movie --if these clips are any indication-- is definitely not worthy of the Charlie Rose program. Maybe that Director, Adam McKay is the problem!
Charlie redeemed himself with Lewis Black. It's always interesting to hear the process a comedian goes through.

Charlie, you didn't touch upon Judd Apatow, who is a force behind this movie. You need to do an hour with Apatow and pick his mind.

Dear Mr. Rose,
You have a great program. Still, I must point out that the bunkbed gag that you aired from Step Brothers was first used by the Three Stooges over 70 years ago. They were also much funnier.

A discussion of this movie is a contradiction. Even Charlie did more preparation for this interview than Ferrell did for the movie. And, it shows.

I've been looking all over to find out if he does have parkinsons and couldn't find a thing. Could it be some kind of sick joke they're pulling on everyone?

Mr Thorn - have to pitch-in with RE Mant on this. Puerile, silly, childish might be worth a (pained) grin; but an entire movie of it? Not for me. ...........................................................................And yes for full disclosure, I'm older than dirt.

Reed -- Ferrel and McKay's comedy site is funnyordie.com.
RE Mant -- the high status idiot, who behaves like a child when he is an adult, is a comedy trope that goes back as far as comedy does. And if you don't think Laurel & Hardy or Groucho or any of many other comedy legends were stupid, juvenile and self-centered...well... you didn't get the joke.
Maybe what you meant to say was, "I'm old, and I don't like new things."

is adam mckay o.k.? he was shaking like a leaf. does he have parkinsons, or was he just the most nervous person in the history of the world?

what is the url of the website will ferrell has started, the youtube of comedy? thanx
RE Mant 07/26/2008 12:34 AM Report
This is God-awful, not God-awful funny, just God-awful. Comedy needs truth to be funny. Chaplin, Laurel & Hardy, Gracie Allen were not stupid, juvenile and self-centered. That's the difference between real commedy and what passes for it today. And that's why it's dead.
