Ya know what, most people (including ANTI-ZIONIST JEWS) are, at least privately, *COMPLETELY FED UP* with Zionist Jews trying to pull out the old "anti-Semite" (or "self-hating") smear against those with whom they disagree. At any rate, the knee-jerk reaction of Zionist Jews just calling someone an "anti-Semite" (and thinking that's all you Zionist Jews still have to do anymore) IS *NOT* AN INTELLECTUAL REBUTTAL. In an *intellectual* rebuttal -- which I know that racists (including Zionists) are incapable of anyway -- you *specificy* WHAT you disagree with in someone else's arguments/assertions, you then say WHY you disagree with it, and then you offer a counter-argument, hopefully following the principles of logic, consistency, and objective validity. But, I guess it's easier for Zionist Jews to try to just smear someone as "anti-Semitic". You know what MALCOLM X said about that?: "THAT STICK DON'T HURT ME!" And, thankfully, increasingly it's just making Zionist Jews look downright idiotic (even if non-Jews are afraid to tell you, but I get compliments from all sorts of people, and all races, even in the supermarket line and even from some of the *grocery cashiers*, or at the pharmacy, when I wear my pro-Palestinian button, or when people overhear my coffeeshop conversation on this with an activist friend), especially when others can compare arguments directly (whether verbally or in print) -- arguments they don't get to hear on corporate mainstream American TV/radio (including on PBS/NPR). But, I'm sure the people who put up the comment boards thought that everyone was hypnotized by the American media. Singer-guitarist Annie DiFranco, at a sold-out capacity concert of thousands of people, once sang a line in one of her songs (the one about 9-11 -- maybe it's on YouTube) about the mainstream American media, "AND THE MEDIA...IS *NOT* FOOOLLLING ME...!", and the entire audience *cheeerrred*, *screeeamed* and *applauded* in agreement! The sustained roar of the audience -- a *HUUUUGE* audience -- took me by surprise -- I was like, "It's not just *me* and *my* friends!" I wish some bigtime TV hosts and news anchors could have been there. DiFranco also sang a line in support of the Palestinians.

Once, on the Charlie Rose show, I saw Martin Indyk try to call another guest "anti-Semitic", and that other guest (a respected establishment person) *didn't* get flustered for once second. The other guest just CHUCKLED back in Indyk's face and pointedly asked Indyk, "Wait a minute...: are you calling me anti-Semitic?" That took Indyk completely by surprise, because Zionist Jews are so used to other people quaking in their boots when Zionist Jews use that ruse to try to *silence* and *censor* others, instead of other standing up to Zionist Jews -- and Indyk had to back his a** down right away, or obviously reveal himself to be the underhanded low-life (and did I say HISTORY'S BIGGEST AND MOST NARCISSISTIC *HYPOCRITES*?) that he and all Zionists Jews really are. IT WAS A RARE GLORIOUS POLITICAL MINUTE IN TELEVISION!!

in 1947/48 as many Jews were kicked out of middle eastern countries as Palestinians were kicked out of Israel...are Palestinian more valuable than Jews?

Addressing the above comment from Mohammed. The ANC was committed to building a nation. PLO and any and all Palestinian groups have never missed an opportunity to miss an opportunity to have their own nation. They could have had a peaceful sovereign nation years ago. The Palestinians want the destruction of another nation more than a better future for thier people. They also have numerous countries to goto whereas Jews dont. To compare Mandela and Arafat or any juxtaposition of the two movements is insulting to the ANC and Nelson Mandela.

Mandela viewed the Palestinians as a key ally in the fight against Apartheid. It is my hope that boycotts against Israel will follow the example of boycotts against Apartheid South Africa.

What you say is correct. There still is no justice. Is apartheid really over? Or is it just more refined now? Fifteen years after the "official" end to apartheid, the businesses are still 90% white owned, and there is still affirmative action. A high court just ruled that the Chinese are now labeled "black", seems like the system of White Supreme-acy is the same. I would ask, "What kind of shape are the white South Africans in when compared to the black South Africans?

My daughter Jamie in California was at a rally for Nelson Mandela. He came into the building where officials were waiting to greet him and there was cheering; however, Mandela walked over to the side of the room where the black serving staff were and greeted each one before meeting the dignitaries.

This touch of grace moved all present to tears.

A note after watching the 90th birthday tribute to Nelson Mandela on Fri July 18 - the last comment by Charlie Rose in his check list of comments re Mandela was a comment about Charlie Rose as well: that in this world of fear, worry, media hype, and half-truths, Charlie Rose is a beacon of sanity for me. I gain hope for our country and our world every time I watch his interviews because of his ability to look at all sides of a question and not feed into the drivel that passes for understanding an issue. Goodness, authenticity, striving for better communication and understanding among one another is far more important than being right, or powerful, I think. Thank you, Charlie Rose.

While I am not quite sure the purpose of the previous post. I enjoyed this show. I can only say that Mandela's sustainability in the struggle to end apartheid and as a president create an environment in which the path to healing in South Africa could have begun...is remarkable. As a person who studies South Africa, its struggles and advances...I can honestly say that President Mandela has played a huge part in ending the last bastion of sanctioned racism that practically reduced the original inhabitants of such a beautiful and wealthy nation to slavery. It is my hope that beyond Mandela, South Africa is not reduced to neoliberal policies that are fine for contries GINI measurements aren't off the charts. Inequity in SA is tremendous and while there is a democratic government and blacks are now inclusive in this process, the amount of chronically poor and indigent citizens is quite a burden on SA. The results of centuries of forced inequality now casts a shadow on its accomplishments.

I hope that people do not ever forget what Mandela has endured and that many in SA are still enduring injustice.
