Nice story of Japan, the dog statue, I never new why that statue was there in Shibuya. I use the statue as a meeting place for friends. "Lets meet at the dog statue" I would say in Japanese. It is nice to know that story. Am I the only one who used that statue and did not know that story? Maybe not. Mike

Did Martha Sherrill really refer to Morie Sawataishi's wife as something like "his best dog"? I am saddened that Martha would compare a human being to a dog. A human wife's life should not be compared to that of a pet. I'm hoping that in the context of the book this comment makes more sense, because it came off as completely sexist.

Made suffering thru the previous segment of the show well worth it. Will buy the book. Just imagine a man not accepting any money for doing something so awesome and unselfish. Wow.

I love PBS because it opens up my knowledge about things I would'nt persue on my own. I've never watched sex in the City but the discussion gave me an idea about why people like it. I too was more interested in the dog story but I'm glad to have the sex education.

As a jaded old man, the author of Dog Man saved the hour. The Sex in the City segment left me wondering what they were going to be when they grew up?
